Hello from Florida!
I was home for a week in between AZ and my drive to FL. The drive went well and it surprisingly went quickly too! I had a good week at home of working on my swing with my swing coach. I was also able to go to Wilson's headquarters to get fit for new FG Tour Control wedges and try out their new M3 Driver. I have really enjoyed practicing my short game while being down here. One of my goals this season is to practice short game everyday, especially my putting. So far I have kept up with both! I have been noticing a difference when I play which is rewarding to see improvement. It also helps to keep me motivated too!
This past weekend I was able to have such an amazing experience by playing in the Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic. I was asked to join team Jockey and was thrilled with the opportunity to play in such an event! I didn't know what to expect but all I know is that my weekend was better than I would have imagined it to be. Friday night started with the Celebrity Gala Dinner. During dinner, there were children who spoke about what the Tim Tebow Foundation (TTF) has done for them and it was touching to hear their stories. John Rich from Big & Rich Sang, an artist painted a picture of Tim Tebow in a matter of minutes on a blank canvas with no picture next to it to go by, Rob Schneider spoke as well. Tim Tebow spoke of how thankful he was for everyone attending tonight and tomorrow and what his foundation means to him. The live auction had some really cool items. The one item I would have wanted was two tickets to every major and it included tickets to the Players Championship. I met some some pretty famous celebrities and I thought it was wonderful to see them supporting such a great foundation. Overall, It was a wonderful night! I definitely learned a lot about the TTF and I never knew there were so many different parts to the foundation to help children and families.

Saturday was certainly a day I won't forget! We arrived at the golf course at 7:15am to check in and have breakfast. After a delicious breakfast it was time to head to the range to warm up. While at the range, Chris Tomlin was hitting behind me. We chatted for a little bit and joked around. He said this sport looked too easy for me so I said I would give him golf lessons if he would give me voice lessons...he said it's a deal (turns out his team finished in 3rd so he might not need the lessons after all!). I also spoke with a man from Wounded Warrior. He had lost both of his legs and had prothstetics but was still able to hit a golf ball really well. Seeing him hit a golf ball and talking with him made me realize how there can be many worse things in life while I'm out pursuing my dream of earning my LPGA card. Our group started on hole #12. At Each hole there was a vendor or some type of activity to do. We had Sweet Frog frozen yogurt to start our day and if you know me, I love sweets! Each hole was different from the next and the Stadium Course isn't your typical FL golf course. The sight I really enjoyed was coming up to #16 green and seeing #17 across the pond. Once we got to hole #17 we took a lot of pictures and took in the whole atmosphere of being on that ever so famous golf hole. I was actually nervous while hitting even though it was only playing 123 yards. I'm happy to say that I hit my shot to about 25 feet and just missed my birdie. I can't even imagine what it must be like to play that hole during the final round of the Players! As we arrived on hole #18 I saw why this hole was such a great finishing hole. The clubhouse is beautiful and sits in the background overlooking the green and pond that runs all along the left side. We picked a little boy from the crowd to have a chance at making our birdie putt. He made it and the crowd as well as our team was very excited! The rest of the holes were fun to play as well as the games on certain holes and the food was great. Our final hole was the par 5 #11th and we set up a nice birdie putt for Sam Jones to finish off the perfect golf round. He made it and we finished at -17.
We went back to the clubhouse for lunch and the awards ceremony. Our team finished in 2nd place! It was very exciting and it capped off the perfect ending to a perfect golf outing. I enjoyed every minute, from Friday's dinner to Saturday's golf round. I'll always remember playing golf with Sam Jones on of golf's greatest known golf course. My team was so fun and it was great team effort out there for our 2nd place finish. I made numerous new memories and could't be more thankful for receiving that invite to play.
I am now preparing for my next Symetra event at Lake Wales CC. I played a practice round today but only played 13 holes due to bad weather. I'm looking forward to my second event of the season. I'll have another update on Sunday or Monday with how my tournament goes! You can follow online by clicking the Symetra link on the side of my blog and go to live scoring :)
