Hi Everyone,
I just finished up our third tournament, Florida's Natural Charity Classic, which was in Lake Wales, FL. The tournament was played at Lake Wales CC. I had a good week of practice leading up to the tournament. A couple friends and I played our Chiptole Challenge match on Tuesday and I'm happy to say my playing partner and I are now 2-0! I played in one of the pro-ams too and my team finished in second with a score of 58 with no handicaps counted towards our score. It was the first time my team has ever placed! I played with a group from Central Florida Sports Marketing and it was a fun day out on the course.
My tournament rounds were 73-75-76 to finish in T47th place. I struck the ball very well during the first round but had a harder time scoring. I gave myself some great birdie chances but didn't capitalize on some of them. The second round was about a 2 club wind with 20mph gusts. I finished well on my back nine during that round after some missed up & down opportunities on the front nine. Going into Sunday's final round I was in a good position to finish well but struggled my last nine holes with speed control on the greens. I would say that I played pretty well for 45 holes. Playing well for 45 holes is a step in the right direction! I need to work on some distance/speed putting drills before my next event but overall I'm happy to see where my game is going. I picked up some distance too compared to where my ball was in last year's rounds :)
Thank you to Lake Wales CC and Florida's Natural for a great event! Also to my wonderful host family, Bob & Gail, for letting me stay with them again this year.
Can't forget to mention how fun and nerve wracking those two Wisconsin Badger games were as well! Beyond excited to see them make it to the Final Four again and I hope you cheer for them this weekend!
On Wisconsin!
